Fantasy Avies @ Chaotic Neutral

Terry Toland has some really nice freebie and dollarbie Fantasy avies (15 total) in her shop, ranging from drow to fae to "that could pass for most anything." And as I always recommend, try to not pass the tip jar without leaving something if you indulge in the goodies.

Star Trek Freebies

Star Trek related freebies at the United Federation Starfleet HQ. Included is a "visitor uniform", various themed foods, role play goodies such as a nice Out of Character (OoC) speaker, and other goodies. The sim is fun to explore, though I found no other freebies in the vendor area.

The popular medieval/fantasy role play regions have some freebies, fabulous if you are going to visit the various lands (grab a Visitor titler first!). ViGo Creations (and mall), specializing in role play and Gorean goods, has an extensive line of free skins (15 for women and 5 for men), four Mini-Manias, and three 60-minute Lucky Chairs in the courtyard, each with a variety of goodies.

Elderglen Freebies from the Lab

Without going into details about The Lab's plans for new communities aimed at premium accounts (Web), let me tell you about the freebies I found in one of them: Elderglen (SLurl). This pic shows my pixy alt hammering away to make a horseshoe, one of a couple items you can get FREE just for using the animated activity. Alternately, you might be given a sword when you stand up. Elsewhere in the telehub Welcome Area, head to the Apothecary to grab a Fairy Collection Jar. Wear it and wander around outside to chase fairies. When you get one, a cute anim plays, a fairy appears in the jar, and you are given a pair of wings. Several styles are available, at least seven by my count. All around the sim inside the various buildings you can grab other freebies like spellbooks, staffs, musical instruments, crystals, bowls, candles, various foods, and more. Exploring is a lot of fun, even the outhouses.

Doomed Ship Avies!

Doomed Ship (SLurl), a horror-in-space role play venue, has complimentary avies, even if you don't join the game. Sets include space suits animation overrides, skins, shapes, and more. You'll also find a full-perms shape set (hinted at in the pic). These folks are very serious about RL-sized avies.

Discover Outer Space

My brother was looking at the map one day to see what was around our newish mainland home and he found a region not connected to any other land but looking like it still belonged with the mainland so he teleported over and spent the next several hours playing. He had found the Mos Ainsley Spaceport, a Linden region with no clear purpose. It looks like the Moles (the Lab's construction critters) built it for fun. You can have fun, too, by getting into the spirit with a free space suit and set of coveralls from the round thing on the wall (SLurl). Then look around and click everything. That is how I found the clothes when I visited. One of the buttons in another room rezzes a shuttle you can fly around.

Free Stargates

Stargates: You've seen them on television, if only in adverts, and you've seen them around Second Life^®. But I found a place where you can get several styles of them free: The Subnova Citadel (SLurl). Pay the vendor (pictured) $L1 and your payment will be refunded while a package is prepared for delivery. I met a Gate Traveller at Shiny Girl (SLurl) and he showed me how the gates work. Watching it was really cool. It appeared to work just like the one on the TV show, but when you click the center of the SL one (after activation) it opens the Map so you can teleport to the new place. It would be helpful to know where you are going and to do that you'd have to get more in depth with the Stargate culture in-world, but just remember this to have some fun: type /d random in chat and the gate will activate and choose another gate at random.

Fyrefly Spaceship

New at Hug☆Mart (SLurl) is the Fyrefly, inspired by the Firefly-class space ship seen in on the TV show Firefly (Web) and the movie Serenity (Web). This highly detailed and complete, fully flyable vehicle sells for L$3450 but has a feature list to make any geek drool.

All the ship's areas seen on the show are in this craft, including crew quarters, med bay, cargo bay, and common areas. It even comes with a flyable "mule" for travels outside the ship.
