The Best Freebies
The best freebies are the fun freebies. With this in mind I quickly leaped (okies, teleported) to New Caerleon for Botgirl's Identity Circus (SLurl) when I saw the group notice. Fun Fun Fun!
Basically, you step into (i.e., sit) in a booth and you are transformed into a completely new avie.
It is a bit more complicated than that, of course, but there is a sign above the booth (helpful and funny) and you are given instructions in chat so it almost works 100%. The instructions tell you to Wear an object for something to happen and that is where it sticks. Nothing happens. Instead, after you wear the object, wait a few seconds, then take off the object to continue the process as described in chat. When you step out of the booth you are one of 6 different avies.
Here are a couple of the avies but stop into the shop to get all six. I love this grey Ruth avie. When the Lindens turned us into clouds rather than Ruths for un-rezzed avies I made my own like this, but what is incredibly funny here is that a Ruth AO is included.
This alien is cool, too, but it looks like one I got from Zada Zenovka's shop (SLurl). It also has an AO, though, whereas Zada's avie doesn't.
Four more avies to try ... here I go!

New Pyramid & Mobvend
Hey, Kitties! I'm back and I've got news for you. First, though, thanks for taking a look at the blog here. I worked it pretty regular-like and got waaayyy frustrated to constantly hear "We have a blog?"
My first post after all this time needs a disclaimer: It is for my wife's store, Dream Images (SLurl). She just added a Prize Pyramid and a Mobvend. She's kinda new with these things and is being generous with the goodies until she figures them out. I also gave her my two Lucky Chairs and I hope she'll be putting them out at her main store or elsewhere.
If you have a Pyramid, Chair, Mobvend, or other similar doohickey, drop me a note card in-world and I'll make a Blog post. Free Adverts! Free Adverts for All!!

Bouncy Bosoms
I'll try to update this with pix, but right now I'm too angry.
There is no way I can recommend the Bouncing Bosom Tintable Wife Beater Top by Raven Ivanova (available on SLex, her store, or discussed here).
Cripes. I wish I had seen the review on SLex before buying this product in the store. The way that this even remotely works is a black shirt with black prims. Otherwise you have a tinted shirt with texture and tinted prims with no texture. The picture on SLex is the same as the one in the store ... completely contrary to what it looks like in-world.
To the maker's credit, they do mention in several places that the product does not work well with Windlight-based viewers. What they should say is that it does not work at all. I tried an older viewer and some colour combos were acceptable but as most folks don't use those viewers (or tweak graphics on the newer viewers per the maker's instructions) there is no point. This product should not be sold as is. Either updated pictures should be show comparing the viewer types or the product needs to be pulled. This was purchased for me as a gift and I felt so bad I gave the generous person thier money back.
I also don't understand why an AO is in the box if the post-purchase information notes that the effect doesn't work with AOs. There is no mention before purchase about this serious problem.
I agree with Aydan Darcy: "Don't waste your money.

Where the Heck did this come from?
Knowing what an object "really" is or knowing who made it can be very handy. For example, the Isle of Lesbos prohibits weapons and some ladies frequently try to tell us "but, hon, it's only decorative!" Or you don't want to ask someone where they got that nifty doohickyjiggerthingy they are wearing but you want one so badly you'll melt without it.
This is where "Inspect" comes in handy. Simply right-click on the object (sorry, doesn't work with mesh layers like skin or clothes) and choose More. If you don't see Inspect in the next menu, choose More again then choose Inspect. A window pops up showing the name of each prim, who owns them, and the creator of each prim.
If you want to visit the creator's shop, click the See Creator Profile ... button and check their Picks or Classified.
Second Life's™ own Torley Linden has a video tutorial demonstrating this feature on YouTube. And an earlier post on this blog describes a similar technique for gathering the same info. But no matter which way you do it, gathering the information can be quite useful. If only to keep you from melting.

That Sparkle in Her Eyes
Kira McCallen teleported me to Tailz De La Fae (SLurl) for a prize chair with a wonderful prize (a high-quality lion neko skin) and I found some freebs in the corner! One of which was Glowing Eye Prims. I pictured some sort of monster-robot-evul thing and was pleasantly suprised!
Also in the corner is a box of free kitty sounds that are pretty typical of what you'll find elsewhere in Second Life™ shops and a unicorn horn (fine if you don't like to mess with a prim on your own).
Thanks, Kira for inviting me to post on this blog and tons of huggs to Serenkitty for such a great group!
